Andrew has worked as an electrical engineer for Southern California Edison conducting pilot projects related to distributed energy resources (DERS) and transportation electrification. He has worked on many of SCE's pilot project evaluations of plug-in electric vehicles, EV charger and DC fast charger grid impact studies, and energy storage system evaluations in auxiliary power unit type applications. Recently his primary focus has been piloting DERMS and Distribution System Operator (DSO) software solutions that aim to manage grid reliability while delivering DER market services. SCE’s goal is to simulate and plan for a future grid state where high DER penetration on the grid is cost-effectively managed by a DEMRS and DSO system.
