Xiwang Li, PhD is currently working as an expert data scientist in Data & analytics department at PG&E. His work majorly focuses utilizing machine learning and deep learning for utility applications: using natural language processing for sentiment analysis in working tickets, using computer vision for remote inspection in transmission and distribution lines. Prior to joining PG&E in 2018, Xiwang was working in LBNL, where he conducted research in using machine learning for energy efficiency in buildings and distributed energy systems. Xiwang obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering from Drexel University in 2015.
