John Cowan is an analytics strategist and lead data scientist within Duke Energy’s Market Solutions Analytics organization in Charlotte, NC. In this role, John manages enterprise-wide initiatives in support of the power quality, reliability & integrity of Duke Energy’s distribution network as well as leading advanced analytics research in customer satisfaction. John is also responsible for leading strategic planning and goal management for the organization. Prior to joining the Duke Energy in 2015, John worked within financial services for 15 years in marketing analytics, data science and quality & productivity. He is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, earned an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business and lives with his family in Salisbury, NC.
